What is DLT registration and do I need it?
DLT is the Distributed Ledger Technology platform that Indian telecom operators use to register businesses that send commercial SMS. You need a DLT entity ID, registered sender headers and approved templates before any SMS reaches customers. We guide you through each step.
What is the difference between promotional and transactional SMS?
Promotional SMS carries offers and marketing, goes out on a numeric header, only between 9am and 9pm, and does not reach numbers on DND for that category. Transactional and service SMS carries information the customer needs, such as OTPs, order updates or alerts, uses your brand header and can be sent at any hour.
Can I send SMS through an API?
Yes. Our REST API lets your website, app, CRM or billing system send messages and receive delivery reports through webhooks. The demo includes a walkthrough of the API for your developers.
How long does it take to start sending?
Once your DLT entity, headers and templates are approved, you can send the same day. Registration time depends on the operator approving your documents, and we help you get the paperwork right the first time.
Can I add links to my SMS?
Yes, but under current TRAI rules every link, app link and call-back number must be whitelisted in your DLT template. We set this up with you, and you can use tracked short links to measure clicks.
